New Pure Silk Shahsavan Sumakh Kilim

This unique area rug is a handwoven silk carpet, woven by hand in the Northwest of Iran, Moghan. It’s a flatwoven rug, woven with the traditional Soumakh technique. The central design has been woven on a subtle cream background with beige, brown, red and rust accents that make up the duo of medallions and the animal motif surrounding design. This is then framed by a bold repeating pattern border that elegantly encloses the design.

The silk materials used in the construction have been dyed with organic dyeing techniques that have been used for generations. The techniques and materials make this rug is highly durable and sure to last if cared for correctly.
