Antique Persian Heriz Rug

This stylish Heriz carpet paints a Classic Persian central medallion format with saturated contrasting colour. The dark indigo medallion paired with a leading border of the same intensity, as hues of red balanced with medium and sky blue. White accents are used to great effect to highlight the corners and smaller motifs throughout. Of particular merit is a garland of large blossoming vine scroll surrounding the central medallion. Its aesthetic is familiar from Northwest Persian border design, but it is applied here with Classic bold Heriz drawing and scale.

This piece was woven with organic materials, including hand-spun wool and cotton that have been dyed with organic vegetable dyes.
