Highly detailed fine silk Qum Rug. Beautifully woven with an ivory / beige background with accents and details woven in muted brown, beige and red colours. The design features a highly detailed vase and flower design with vases scattered across the centre with meandering scrolling leafs and foliage. This unique design is then enclosed by an extensively detailed repeat pattern border. This fine silk rug was constructed in the early 2000s however is still in beautiful condition with a thick silk pile. The construction of Qum rugs started to take off in the 1930s. The Qum rug patterns traditionally feature central medallions with designs that resemble the ceilings of traditional mosques. Qum rug designs also frequently feature animal scenes with rich colour ways.
