Highly detailed fine silk Isfahan Rug. Beautifully woven with anrich aqua blue background and accents and detials woven in darker contrasting red, black and beige colours. The design features a highly detailed central medallion, with floral motifs and scrolling botanical leafs, woven intricately through the centre. This unique design is then enclosed by an extensively detailed repeat pattern border. This fine silk rug was constructed in 1970s however is still in beautiful condition with a thick silk pile. The construction of Qum rugs started to take off in the 1930s. The Qum rug patterns traditionally feature central medallions with designs that resemble the ceilings of traditional mosques. Qum rug designs also frequently feature animal scenes with rich colour ways. Qum rugs are finely hand knotted with wool and cotton to make high quality pile carpets.
