Vintage Persian Gabbeh Rug

This fine wool rug is a beautiful example of a Persian Gabbeh Rug, featuring a simple beige background decorated with a simple repeat motif pattern. The motifs used are traditionally known in persoan drawings as the symbol for trees. This design is then enclosed by a detailed border that draws the eye in. Traditional Persian Gabbeh Rugs are woven with a dense wool pile that is usually thick. Constructed with hand-spun wool which was dyed using traditional vegetable dyeing techniques.
