An antique Turkish silk Hereke woven rug, circa 1970. These fine handmade rugs feature a lustrous short silk pile with a symmetrical floral design woven on an ivory background with gold, brown and cream accents. The central frame of the floral rug is enclosed within a beautifully rendered foliate border with a little weaver’s mark at one end before the long fringe. Extremely fine weave with a high knot count add a unique sheen to the silk pile. This ivory silk rug is in excellent condition.
