Highly detailed fine pure silk Qum Rug. Hand woven with a muted brown background with accents and detials woven in a rich golden yellow. The design features a highly detailed central medallion with floral motifs woven intricately through the centre. This unique design is then enclosed by an extensively detailed repeat pattern border. This fine silk rug was constructed in in the 1990s however is still in beautiful condition with a thick silk pile. The construction of Qum rugs started to take off in the 1930s. The Qum rug patterns traditionally feature central medallions with designs that resemble the ceilings of traditional mosques.
