Antique Runner, Persian Rug Tribal Khamseh Runner

This Antique Khamseh Runner Rug is a rare example of wool weavings in a large room size format. Woven in Persia – Iran circa 1880, this rug contains lamb and sheep wool, which gives the carpet its aged appearance. The combination of different yarns adds to the uniqueness and beautiful nature of the carpet.

The design is unusually sophisticated, featuring two fantastic central medallions woven in red, blue, and ivory accents. The border is a tremendous repeat pattern border and sits beautifully alongside the main geometric design.
