Antique Persian Turkmen Rug 104x152cm
In stock
This fine wool rug was woven by hand in Persia in 1920 by the Turkmen, a Turkic ethnic group native to Central Asia, living mainly in Turkmenistan, northern and northeastern regions of Iran and Afghanistan. The central design features a rich red background and a highly-decorative tribal design in accents of ivory, cream and grey. Both the colour and patterns in this piece have been influenced by Balouch designs.
The raw materials used are of the finest quality, with only the best hand-spun wool and cotton which have been dyed with organic dyeing techniques and delicately woven on looms to create this elegant piece. Place this piece in a cosy classic interior or a sophisticated modern style for an instant uplift. This fine wool rug can be used as a bedroom rug, living room rug or entranceway rug.
