Antique Persian Qashqai Rug

This piece is an excellent example of Persian rugs woven by hand in the 1890s with an elegant diagonal repeat motif pattern woven with blue, green, and beige accents. This antique piece was woven in 1890 in Persia by the Qashqai, a large Turkic group mainly settled in the southwest of Iran. Constructed with fine hand-spun wool and cotton, which have been dyed with organic vegetable dyeing techniques that have been used for generations.
