This elegant Persian Garageh Rug was woven by hand in Persia in the 1890s with the finest organic materials. The central design has been woven on a brown background with blue, yellow and orange accents that make up the tribal medallion and motif design. This has then been framed by a layered motif border that encloses the tribal patterns. The raw materials used are of the finest quality, with only the best hand-spun wool and cotton which have been dyed with organic dyeing techniques and delicately woven on looms to create this elegant piece. Constructed with a traditional hand-knotting technique which has been used for generations due to the durable rugs the technique produces. This piece is a Gharageh, commonly, Karaja rugs, are handwoven heirloom textiles that were produced in or near the village of Garageh, Heris (Heriz).
