This fine wool rug is an excellent Mihrab design Persian Balouch Rug. This antique piece was constructed in 1920 with locally sourced organic materials. The central design features a rich orange background. Featuring brown, black and blue accents that make up the repeat geometric pattern.
The materials used are of the finest quality; hand-spun wool, organic cotton and vegetable dyeing techniques
have all been used to construct this fine wool rug. This wool rug was delicately woven on a loom in Persia by the Baloch or Baluch. Iranians who live mainly in the Balochistan region, located at the southeasternmost edge of the Iranian Plateau, encompassing the countries of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan.
In addition, this antique wool pile rug is in great condition, clean and ready for use in any home. In short, due to their hardwearing nature, this piece is sure to last for generations if cared for correctly.
