This antique wool rug is an antique Kashmiri Rug woven by hand in the 1900s in Kashmiri, a country landlocked by India, China and Pakistan, known for their bold pieces. This elegant piece is constructed with brown sheep’s wool, with accent colours of blue, beige, purple and green that make up the symmetrical floral design. Both the unique colour palette and design of this piece make it the perfect accent accessory for any room. This piece is sure to uplift any modern or classic home interior with its unique antique feel.
This piece was constructed in the 1900s with fine organic wool and cotton that would have been dyed with organic techniques used in rug construction for generations.
The carpet tradition in India was led by Babur, an Iranian man unsatisfied with the lack of luxury in India compared to his home of Iran. In the 16th century, Akbar took specific weavers to India to establish them in Indian workshops known as Indian Agra and Indian Kashmiri.
This piece is in good condition, ready for use in any room.
