Antique Farahan Rug

This exquisite antique Malayer rug features was woven by hand in the 1880s and features an elegant, intricate pattern. Colours of red, cream, rust orange and green have been woven into a stunning, repeat pattern central design. This is then enclosed by highly detailed corner designs and a repeat pattern border. Both woven with the same striking accent colours. Almost hidden within the design of this Persian Malayer rug, some of the Paisley have decorated with the floral ornaments, resting amid the leaves and petals rendered with artful stitches.

Constructed with hand-spun wool which has been dyed with organic dyeing techniques, used for generations. Woven on looms by master weavers with traditional hand-knotting techniques that make this piece durable and so suitable for any high traffic area.
